Team scheduling, skills management, production monitoring

AN INDUSTRIAL COMPANY OPTIMISES ITS OVERALL PERFORMANCE WITH eTEMPTATION

For this industrial company specialised in electrical equipment, the eTemptation project was particularly strategic and structuring. In less than 6 months, Novexia was able to set up the production team planning, centralised management of skills and authorisations, real-time monitoring of its production, and optimised management of employees’ working times.

IMPROVING TEAM SCHEDULING BY STREAMLINING SKILLS

Jérémy Lethenet, Industrial Director explains: “Our planning was previously drawn up with Excel. Our employees’ skills were managed on multiple spreadsheets. As each service had defined its standard, consolidation and centralisation of information was practically impossible. With the  eTemptation’s HQ Planning module, we were able to standardise and centralise the management of skills and authorisations. ”

Novexia was then able to start the team planning process, ensuring that the people assigned to the positions had the required skills and qualifications, an essential feature in this industrial field.

“Team planning is done over 10 rolling weeks, and we precisely adjust the schedule according to load variations for the following week. Depending on the needs calculated by the ERP per workplace, HQ Planning automatically assigns operators taking into account the skills necessary for this work position. Some manual adjustments are made by production managers to deal with possible cases of over or under-staffing ” explains Jérémy Lethenet.

Jérémy Lethenet says: “the time saved for the planning is appreciable but above all we can guarantee, for example during the audits, that the assignments of the operators conform to the defined rules”.

IMPROVED WORKSHOP PERFORMANCE WITH ACCURATE PRODUCTION MONITORING

Novexia wanted to improve the monitoring of production activities by replacing the existing tool with a more user-friendly and integrated solution with the company’s ERP (IFS). “Our operators enter their activities in real time on barcode terminals with an average of 600 to 800 transactions per day”.

“The user interface of the HQ Activity module allowed us to easily decentralise the activity management to supervisors who appreciate the gain in reactivity that the solution has brought them. They have real-time supervision functions but also performance indicators and dashboards that we were able to build with the Infocentre module “.

For Gilles Perrault, CIO of Novexia: “Integration with our ERP was a prerequisite for this project. The ERP sends the manfucturing orders and operations to HQ Activity. HQ Activity automatically transfers the time spent, the status of the operations and the good or scrap quantities to the ERP “.

"the saving of time for the realisation of the planning is appreciable"
