Monitoring operator activities with HQ Activity

Goodyear has implemented the HQ Activity solution to coordinate the activities of almost 2000 operators across its 3 production facilities in Amiens, Montluçon and Riom. This centralised solution takes the specificities of each site into account.

A question of convictions, first and foremost

"Making this project a success was a question of convictions, first and foremost." This is how Jean- Philippe Cavaillé, Human Resources Director at Goodyear Dunlop Tires France, sums up the experience of introducing activity tracking to the group's industrial facilities.

A project that was sensitive but essential

Activity tracking occupies a special place in Goodyear's organisation. The company previously used an AS400 application, developedover the years to become an increasingly central component of the information system.

"The application collected data on employee activity for pay and reporting purposes. This information was fed into the reports and dashboards of the Finance and Production departments, particularly the reports intended to be passed up to the group management," explains Francine Ménard, Director of Pay and the HR information system.

"The task of replacing this old application had been delayed several times, because the complexity of the system made it a challenging prospect," adds Jean-Philippe Cavaillé. "But this is such a delicate subject that there was no room for error, particularly from a social standpoint. The sensitivity of the project was even more challenging than the technical side of things," the HR Director confirms.

When the decision was finally taken to replace AS400, Goodyear opted for Horoquartz's HQ Activity solution. As Francine Ménard explains, this was a natural fit since "we were already using Horoquartz's time management modules, and we were keen to integrate those functions with eTemptation to achieve greater synergy between our management of presence/absence times and our activity tracking."

Targets met, results that speak for themselves

Activity data is now entered directly on-site and centralised in the shared database. "We can now explain and justify all of the results provided by HQ Activity, which is a real step up from our previous system. Our colleagues in the Finance and Production departments now have absolute confidence in the reports they receive. Data which has an impact on pay is automatically transmitted by Meta4 every day," Francine Ménard adds.
